finger find...

wow. just discovered these rings (here & here) from st.kilda's eclectic line of jewelry. i'm completely obsessed with the subtle, hidden details of both versions. would be the perfect token of love for the romantic's out there or a push present for those momma's to be.

now...i've got to figure out a way to convince my honey that i'm deserving of yet another piece of jewelry to adorn my fingers

four-eye fabulousness

a few months back i saw the violet pair of these mmj 462's on a stylish mom & had to stop and ask her WHO made them & WHERE she got them.

they were grown up yet playful and gave her that confidently cool geeky chicness that takes the practicalness out of having glasses & puts the glamour into them.

plus...go figure, marc makes them.

i fell in love with the violet, just found a pretty sweet deal on the frames, and am pretty sure they'll be showing up in my mailbox soon...but there's something very sally jesse raphael-esque about the red ones that are speaking to the inner talk show host in me.

adoration for alkemie...

have you found something that draws you in so deeply that you find yourself needing to know more? and then... as you learn more you become even further engrossed, impressed and in awe?

well that's what happened to me when i came across alkemie's collection of jewelry.

it all started when i slipped this wolf ring on my finger. fierce & bold but with ladylike class. next thing you know, i had the sting ray cuff on my wrist, the bat cuff on the other, layered with a couple of their necklaces, walking laps around the store, feeling overly adorned but not wanting to give any of it back.

i raced home to find out more so that i could share this amazing find with all of you and what i ended up finding out  just blew.me.away.

things like:
a) the l.a. based company was founded by a husband and wife team
b) they use mother nature and all her wonder as inspiration for their line
c) their entire collection is forged from 100% reclaimed metals
d) they give back. 5% of each sale goes towards one of the charity organizations that they support.
e) the motive for their responsible actions is to exemplify responsibility to their daughters and be an example for future generations

amazing, right? talk about intention...selflessness...the greater good...environmental awareness...

and on top of it all, their jewelry is hand-crafted, well made, and incredibly beautiful.

i am beyond impressed and hope you will be too.

three.

meet my favorite number. it has been since i was about eight and had a massive crush on then super stud dodger 2nd baseman, steve sax... ah, steve

i like how 3 looks... i like how 3 sounds... i like how t-h-r-e-e is spelled... it's just a super awesome number, the open end welcoming in all things and the double bumps/half open circles holding in all that is good.

and i love it when my dearest friends know me so well to send me things that, in her words, i need to have... and of course she's right...

i do need. this. ring. but first i need the $$$ to buy it.

once i have it i will wear it in a stack and keep wishing on that three... for three.

wrist wrap...

i sure am glad that bangles and bobbles, wrap bracelets & friendship bracelets, lucky charms & chunky chains have all made their way out of the drawers and onto our wrists...together

i love a wrist stacked with goods can switch from a bohemian air to rock n' roll swagger based on the accessories you choose.

i saw this look today and loved the preppy classic vibe of the watch and bandanna combo. it's neatly put together and clean looking.

... perfect for the polo fields, a day sailing the seas, or for one of those office day jobs where they make you dress professionally.

house of shields...

the crew over at yellow owl workshop is crafty, clever & full of creative genius...

this little workshop was born here in san francisco out of a love for hand printed paper goods, and it has been wonderful to watch their little treasures pop up more & more around town.

i loved them first for their eco-friendly graphic print cards and super sweet stamp sets, but now they've branched out from paper and are making wearable pendants that i've got my eye on.

...i've got a feeling my neck is about to get lucky! hoot!hoot! yellow owl!

isn't she lovely...

meet lovely.

yes... that IS her name. well actually marc has dubbed her the day to night XL, but i think she's more than that.

hot. pink. AND gold... it really doesn't get any better.

she is everything that i try not to be, but i think that's why i'm captivated & obsessed with her.

she's indulgent, high maintenance, screaming for attention, and always looking drop dead beautiful.

basically, she's the yin to my yang. i can't get enough of her.

thanks tooks for bringing her into my life. i thought she and I would never be friends.

happy as a handbag...

i love it when ideas blossom into reality...

collina strada owner, hillary taymour, started her line by first making purses as presents for her girlfriends. these thoughtful little gifts made her friends happy and she figured that if they made her friends happy, then they'd probably make other people happy as well.

hillary was right... i just bought her alea trio crossbody and couldn't be happier. it's big enough to fit my necessities (wallet, gum, phone & chapstick) yet small enough to not weigh me down.

it's a nice little addition to my personal handbag collection...and every time i wear it, it will serve as a reminder that my ideas/hopes/dreams can come true & make people happy, too!

more moorea!!!

i'm always on the look out for unique accessories to help tie together a look or help add something eye-catching to a basic outfit.

i recently fell in love and immediate purchased the no.328 triple chevron necklace from seattle local moorea seal. this young lass has quite a broad collection of pieces that incorporate her love for nature and geometric shapes like chevrons and triangles.

each piece has an organic, homemade beauty that is sure to catch some attention around town... and for those of you headed to a summer music festival, be sure to check out her no.365 california headdress. it's not something you'd wear everyday, but it might be just the thing you need to bring out the festival prowess in you!

lay on this...

if you love summer picnics or days spent laying in the sand enjoying the sun, then you should most definitely purchase one of these steven alan beach blankets.

infact, why don't you go buy yours and then come back and finish reading this post... i'll wait. hurry, hurry because i don't want them to be sold out before you get yours.

.... great! which one did you get? i know it was a wee bit expensive, but i promise you, you will not be disappointed. i was lucky to get my hands on one last year and i smile every time i unroll it, shake it out and set it down.

this blanket is 60" x 84" inches of light & airy, super soft cotton. it's compact enough to fit in just about any tote bag and by far the best looking blanket on the beach, in the park, or wherever you choose to lay this puppy down.

and yes... with you sitting on top of this pretty thing, you are SURE to be noticed. so strike a pose and enjoy the attention.

the pocahontas within...

if i still had my long hair, i'd head for my hairstylist and have her adorn my tresses with these plumes of feathery loveliness...

feather's have been popping up on runways and as accessories for a while now, but there is something about the upcoming long warm days of summer that has the laid back boho-pocohontas in me yearning for one.

i think it would be the perfect accessory... tucked discreetly near the nape of my neck, that would whisk me into a daydream, sitting on a sandy beach, music playing softly in the background with a gorgeous sunset, feet buried in the sand, and the sweet mix of salt water and suntan lotion filling the air. relaxed. enjoying life's simple pleasures and feeling light as a feather.

but alas, i have short hair, so the feather extension will be subbed out for a lovely pair of feather earring, with the same daydream... but if YOU have long hair, please put a feather in your hair and let your pocahontas roar.

le homage to le pliage...

take a look around town and chances are you'll see plenty of longchamp le pliage totes adorning the shoulders of ladies on the go...from the young, up & coming twenty-something to the slightly older yet classic longchamp lady, each carrying the pliage of their color choice as an everyday handbag.

i get it. it's a simple bag that is easily recognizable. a more "grown-up" canvas bag without being a canvas bag, but nothing that i'd HAVE to HAVE... BUT if you up the size of the bag, add an expandable zipper & shoulder strap to it, then you've REALLY got something necessary.

meet the le pliage expandable carry on. it is thee best catch all for any overnighter, weekend trip, or simple day at the beach. my closest friends and i each have one (thanks to the peacock) and can't get enough.

if you're looking for a gift for a mom or friend, or simply a little splurge for yourself, i highly encourage you to pass up the everyday tote and grab yourself le pliage de mieux!

simply perfect...

i'm the kind of girl who is always on the lookout for the perfect accessory. perfect for me varies in style, but it usually meets the following criteria...

- eye-catching
- slightly edgy
- fun to wear
- versatile

...so you can imagine my jaw-dropping gasp when i came across jewelry designer laura lombardi's latest collection. each piece is covet-able and simply (by my standards) perfect...not to mention hand-crafted and made from vintage & repurposed materials.

my biggest decision is going to be what piece (or pieces) to buy first...hmmmm.
