ABSTRACT: This paper describes the current (2003) situation of cassava production and utilization in Asia with emphasis on its role as a raw material for various agro-industries. The paper describes in some detail the great diversity of products that can be made from cassava. It then analyses the future potential of the crop and how it might maintain its competitive edge in the world market.
