oman coffee prices june 09 2011, oman agriculture - Food prices stabilise at wholesale market: MUSCAT — Prices of some food items were stable in wholesale stores in Muscat Governorate during this week. While prices of other items dropped slightly.

The latest survey conducted by the Public Authority of Consumer Protection showed stability of the prices of rice, flour, tea, sugar, milk, salt, coffee, lentil and Manara cooking oil. The price of Jabal Akhdar cooking oil dropped by 0.32 per cent at some stores.

The survey showed fluctuations in prices of food items at retailers, Tharmad rice, for instance, was sold at RO 21 at some stores, and RO 22 at others. The price of Al Madina rice stabilised at RO 22.5 at most supermarkets. Thahabi flour was sold at RO 2 at some stores, and RO 2.100 at others. The price of a carton of Lipton tea ( 420 kg x 24) hovered between RO 29 and RO 30.

Sugar prices differed from one store to another in the Muscat Governorate, in the range of RO 15.800 to RO 16.400. Milk prices were between RO 28.800 and RO 28.500.
